RASTI - Modellspielwaren
Dr.Hasel & Co was established in Baden, Germany, in 1965
and started sales of a plastic construction system in 1966.
The Rasti brick had studs with
a protruding ring and elastic clamps beneath. When connected, the
clamps would click in place, locking on to the stud rings. The locking
was so strong that the bricks had to be separated with a small crow-bar
supplied with the boxes.

A few years after beginning
sales in Europe, a factory was established in Argentina. But the
locking system, its innovative ground, was also its weakness because
the bricks were so awkward to unlock.
The system was manufactured
in Germany until the 1980s.
