LEGO set 1219 (1955 /57- N)

SET 1219 (2X2 bricks)- Norway 1957

This is an old Norwegian Supplemental set. This box cover was used in Norway only and results from a different colouring of the same b&w photo used in the Danish and Swedish covers (see here an example in Set 1224). The other side of the box has the Billund Police illustration and is marked "LEGO Mürsten systemsett". that marking was only used in Norway. To see the other side visit this page on the 1218 set.

The top of the interior drawer shows a slotted brick which is probably what the set would have contained in 1955. This particular set was probably sold in 1957 or 1958 because someone corrected the old "1219" Scandinavian reference to the international "220" that started being used in Scandinavia circa 1958.

The interior and bottom of the inner drawer of the box do not have any decoration. Both box tops are identical, although only one had the number corrected.

Nonwithstanding the drawing, the box contains non-slotted 2x2vs04 bricks, produced from 1956 until 1957 or 1958. It contains 9 red and 9 white bricks, although the original number may have been larger. All the bricks are of the same version and of the same subtype, molded in machine-numbered units. They are all numbered from "1" to "6".
